About The
Artist
Ken Morrison is a native of
Bradley County, Tennessee and has been a resident of Dalton, Georgia since
1961.
At
an early age, Ken had an unusual interest in drawing, and as he grew older,
his interest in all the visual arts increased. In choosing the vocation of
sign artist/illustrator as a young man, he was able to express some of his
creative talent but desired to do more.
In 1987 he began to paint in the difficult medium of watercolor and released
his first limited edition print three years later.
Ken is a self-taught artist
having had no formal art training other than a commercial art correspondence
course as a teenager.
Choosing subjects that are
familiar and loved by many, the scenes he enjoys painting are very much a
part of him. Having grown up on a farm in rural Tennessee explains his
interest in preserving the rich heritage of our disappearing landscapes.
Realizing that art is a strong
link of communication between artist and viewer, he attempts in his
realistic style to capture the character and moods of his subjects and
convey what he sees and feels to the viewer.
